Honors Grad Forms & Valedictorian Info

Hello Mustangs!

Graduation time for our 2021 class is fast approaching!  The Administration team at Highwood High School would like to share its Valedictorian criteria & expectations below; as well as 2 links to printable PDF's for students who wish to apply to graduate with Honors and Honors with Distinction.  Please note without the completion of these forms, students cannot be considered for this special recognition.  Students have until June 22nd to complete and return them to the office.

Valedictorian Criteria & Expectations:

The Valedictorian, at École Secondaire Highwood High School, is the student with the Highest Grade Point Average, (GPA) among the graduating class.  The Valedictorian will deliver the farewell statement (Speech) at the Convocation Ceremony in the park.  The Valedictory Speech is considered a final farewell to classmates, before they disperse to pursue their individual paths after graduating.

In the event the Valedictorian is not able to deliver the Valedictorian Speech, the student with the next Highest Grade Point Average will deliver the Speech. 

In the event of a tie for the Highest Grade Point Average among the graduating class, there will be more than one Valedictorian and there will be more than one Valedictorian Speech at the Convocation Ceremony.
